Split Pea Soup in a Jar
- 1 cup Great Lakes Sun Dried Tomatoes, chopped
- 2 cups Dried Split Peas
- 2 Tablespoons Chicken Bouillon granules
- 2 teaspoons Dried Basil leaves
- 2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme leaves
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Vegetable Oil
- 1 cup Onion, chopped
- 2 cups Ham, diced
- 9 cups Water
- In a glass jar layer first 7 ingredients. Store tightly covered for 2 months.
- To make soup - Sauté onion in vegetable oil until tender. Add ham, water and soup mix. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 1 hour or until peas are tender.
- Print a tag with the instructions and attach to the jar to give as a gift.
