Split Pea Soup in a Jar
  • 1 cup Great Lakes Sun Dried Tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 cups Dried Split Peas
  • 2 Tablespoons Chicken Bouillon granules
  • 2 teaspoons Dried Basil leaves
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup Onion, chopped
  • 2 cups Ham, diced
  • 9 cups Water
  1. In a glass jar layer first 7 ingredients. Store tightly covered for 2 months.
  2. To make soup - Sauté onion in vegetable oil until tender. Add ham, water and soup mix. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 1 hour or until peas are tender.
  3. Print a tag with the instructions and attach to the jar to give as a gift.
