Great Lakes' Ready-to-Eat (RTE) Dried Apricots begin their journey to your table on the sunny mountain slopes of eastern Turkey, near the bustling city of Malatya. The apricot orchards there are irrigated with the waters of cold mountain streams that eventually become the mighty Euphrates River. The sweet firm flesh of Malatya dried apricots are famous throughout the world, and are unequaled in flavor and color. At harvest, when the fruit is fully ripened, the apricots are shaken from the trees, pitted, and placed in the warm summer sun to dry. Before packaging and shipment to you, the sun-dried apricots are re-washed, dried, and individually selected under rigorously controlled conditions. We choose only the very finest available fruit for packaging under the "Great Lakes" label. We are sure that you will enjoy them.
